Pre-race ritual/Superstition: Nothing notable. I have the same routine of laps that I do every race, but nothing superstitious
Race Day Breakfast: The Classic! Steel cut oats, fresh berries, peanut butter, with milk or yogourt.
Favourite Course: In Europe, the Zolder World Cup course. In North America, Jingle ‘Cross is my favourite, but I’m probably better at the Trek course in Waterloo or Cross Vegas.
Most memorable cycling experience: The very first World Championships I did in Louisville. It was so special partly because it was my first time representing Canada, partly because it was the first time international CX had visited America, and partly because I had so many friends and family out to cheer me on.
I got into cycling because ... I loved the freedom that it provided me as a child. Sometime around Grade 6 I started biking the 20km to school a few times a week. It’s funny to think now how much hassle this actually caused for my parents - My mom would leave after me and meet me there to make sure I made it - but I loved feeling like I was accomplishing this big adventure on my own.
I’m excited to race with Garneau - Easton p/b TLC because ... this is the third year that I’ve managed the team in some way shape or form and it’s amazing to see all the hard work that Dylan, Craig, and myself have poured into this project starting to pay off.
If I’m not riding, I’m .... working for NOBL Wheels in Abbotsford, coaching with Cycle-Smart INC., spending time with my wife, or trying to squeeze in off-season outdoor adventures.
